By mistake, the book was already published last week in Spanish. Therefore, parts of the book were known to the public in advance.
Among other things, Prince Harry had told in the book that he killed 25 people when he was a soldier in Afghanistan.
He also accuses his brother — Crown Prince William — of physically attacking him in connection with a controversy about Harry’s wife, Duchess Meghan.
The book has also entered bestseller lists around the world. On Tuesday, both Bog & Idé, and Saxo stated that the book was number one.
“Spare” has had a mixed reception among some readers in other parts of Europe and British reviewers.
In The Guardian, the book is described as a failed attempt to recover the narrative.
Here reviewer Charlotte Higgins writes that the book is alternately “frustrating” and “strangely convincing” as well as “absurd”, but also that it evokes “compassion”.
In Politiken, reviewer Eva Eistrup gives the book four out of six hearts, while Information reviewer Bodil Skovgaard Nielsen calls it both “readable” and “lavish” but also “completely unfocused”.
